New Student Orientation
Who?
Students who have never been to college anywhere, never been to HCC, not been to HCC in a while, parents, spouses, friends and others are all welcome at New Student Orientation
Why?
Through New Student Orientation you will receive a comprehensive balance of academic and co-curricular information. This is a chance to have staff and faculty address your concerns about registration, academic advising, and the culture of our campus community. The event is also designed to encourage interaction with other incoming HCC students who may share the same experiences, questions and concerns that you have. Meet the faculty and staff who are here to help you and get your questions answered in a welcoming and open atmosphere. You will also get a chance to see the campus and locate your classrooms before the rush.
What is it?
The event is structured so that you have plenty of time for questions, breaks and mingling. When you check in you will get your meal ticket and a guide to the different information sessions that will be offered that day. You can choose which sessions to attend and when. Each session is a power-packed half hour of relevant, useful information.
Where?
All the New Student Orientations check in at the Student Lounge (Building 2, First Floor). There will be NSO signs to help you find your way. If you are driving to campus, please be sure to park in Student parking lots. They will offer you free parking for the day of your event. These lots are identified on the Campus Map. You can find Campus Maps located in all schedule books and the College Catalog.
