Information Technology Center Mission:
The mission of the Information Technology Center is to provide access to an information technology infrastructure consisting of the tools, services, and support that enable the HCC community to be more effective in their endeavors.
Goal 1: Students will have a computer lab for learning and studying.
- Students will have access to a sufficient quantity of current equipment and software to use in the computer lab.
- Students will be able to apply for, activate or reset their network accounts in a timely manner.
- Students who receive introductory computing workshops will be able to effectively use computers and software provided in the lab.
- Students will report receiving satisfactory basic computer assistance.
Goal 2: Employees will have on-campus desktop support for their HCC standardized computer equipment.
- Employees who follow recommended standards for purchasing computer hardware and software will receive streamlined service.
- Employees will receive support for installing and setting up their computers in a timely manner.
- Employees will report receiving satisfactory assistance in resolving basic computer problems.
- At any given time, the majority of employee desktop systems will have current critical security and maintenance updates.
Goal 3: Department and program IT liaisons will have assistance with their IT needs.
- Departmental IT liaisons will report they have been highly involved in the systems analysis of their IT needs.
- Departmental IT liaisons who follow recommended standards for purchasing lab and server equipment and software will receive streamlined service.
- Departmental IT liaisons will receive support for lab setup and management in a timely manner.
- Departmental IT liaisons will receive support for server setup and applications management in a timely manner.
- Departmental IT liaisons will report receiving satisfactory assistance in resolving lab or server issues.
- At any given time, the majority of departmental lab or server systems will have current critical security and maintenance updates.
Goal 4: The HCC community will be educated regarding technology matters.
- The HCC community will be provided with directory information regarding HCC IT services.
- The HCC community will be educated in general IT matters that are relevant to their studies or jobs.
- The HCC community will be informed of IT developments at HCC.
- The HCC community will have access to ITC-sponsored learning activities such as workshops.
- The HCC community will have access to an IT knowledge base comprised of information and people.
Goal 5: The HCC community will have access to an optimal network infrastructure.
- The HCC community will enjoy localized IT solutions arising from having autonomy over its own network domains and associated services such as mail, web and authentication.
- The HCC community will have access to a reliable and updated network.
- The HCC community will have access to global network communities such as the Internet.
- The HCC community will report that access to network status information and channels for incident reporting is satisfactory.
- The HCC community will have authorized remote network access to local network services.
