Do the 3-letter and 4-letter acronyms used by experienced faculty and administration often sound like a foreign language? Here's a listing of publishable acronyms used to refer to programs, committees, and projects on campus. Obvious acronyms such as BIOL, PHIL, DRAFT, MATH, HIST, and GEOG have not been included. If you know of any others, please let us know.
Acronyms for committees recently became so numerous and confusing that it was decided that only a few would henceforth be used. In the list that follows, old acronyms for most committees have been left out.
