Composition
- 2 Faculty: one from LibArts, one from VocTech
- One of these serves as faculty advisor
Purpose
The Student Publications Board publishes all student publications
supported by the mandatory HCC Student Activity Fee. The SPB
currently oversees the publications of the Kahili (student
newspaper), Trades (a student journal), and Technical Review (a
journal highlighting issues and interests in vocational subjects).
Function
- Assist and advise students in administering finances relating to
student publications.
- Assist and advise students in a review of the SPB's financial
status and in the preparation of its operational budget for each
year.
- Assist and advise students with counseling and advice in regard
to the SPB's authority to serve as appellate body in matters of
journalistic ethics, taste, and responsibility.
Workload
Meetings of the SPB are held once a month.
