Composition
- One (1) liberal arts faculty member
- One (1) technical/occupational faculty member
- One (1) counselor
- One Assistant Dean (ex-officio, non-voting), appointed by the Registrar
Purpose
The Academic Standing Committee concerns itself with students who
are either facing suspension or dismissal, or who are already on
suspension or dismissal.
Function
The Academic Standing Committee:
- Reviews appeals by students facing suspension or dismissal.
- Advises students on required actions that they must satisfy in
order to succeed in college.
- Makes decisions regarding the reinstatement of students who have
been suspended or dismissed.
In each of these functions, the Academic Standing Committee acts as a
recommending body. The faculty work closely with an Assistant Dean
appointed to the committee by the Registrar.
Workload
The Academic Standing Committee meets during off duty periods just
prior to the fall and spring registration periods.
