New Business

  1. Spring Faculty Professional Development money - the timeline for submission of spring requests for faculty professional development money will be finalized at the next Committee meeting. Awards will be distributed at the March meeting.

  2. Spring Newsletter - Jerry stated he would draft the Spring Faculty Development Newsletter. Chris will assist and submit an article for it. She will probably write about using manipultives in remedial and development courses. Jerry asked for names of new faculty at HCC this semester who will be highlighted in the Newsletter. The Newsletter will finalized and distributed mid to late April.

  3. Faculty Development Committee Charter - Jerry distributed a copy of the Committee Charter. He stated that is it to be reviewed annually. The review will be completed at the next Committee meeting. He pointed out there is a question mark next to the date of authorization by the FSEC. The Conference will be held at Windward CC on the Monday and Tuesday of Spring Break, March 23 and 24. Jerry stated a call for proposals will be distributed soon and more information and registration for the conference will follow. Chris asked if qualitative can used for assessment. The consensus was, yes. She has already talked to Ross Egloria about this and may submit a call for proposals to present this at the Assessment Conference.
