Ruth E. Black Scholarship
This scholarship was created to provide scholarships to students within the University of Hawaii system, giving preference to sons and daughters of engineers, contractors and construction workers.
Eligibility Requirements
- Classified at HCC and enrolled at least half-time status.
- Meet Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress policies.
- Demonstrated financial need as determined by an application for financial aid.
- Priority will be given to applicants whose parent(s) are or were employed in the Hawaii construction industry. (Parent(s) formerly employed in the Hawaii construction industry and now deceased or retired will also be considered.)
- Second priority will be based on academic achievement to students majoring in a construction-related field.
Application Requirements
- Complete online scholarship application.
- Complete the 2008-2009 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
Scholarship Amount
Maximum of $500 per year
