  • To seek out and encourage qualified and dedicated individuals to enter the Occupational Safety and Health field.
  • To support and enhance quality safety education programs at local colleges and universities.
  • To recognize and support outstanding students of Occupational Safety and Health or related fields.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicant must meet the following requirements:

  1. A completed application form for a Chapter Scholarship Award.
  2. Resident of the State of Hawaii.
  3. Currently enrolled in an Occupational Safety and Health or related field.*
  4. Must not have received a Chapter Scholarship Award during the preceding semester.

* In Hawaii, with a minimum of 6 semester hours.

Selection Criteria

  • Must have achieved a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.**
  • Leadership skills through extracurricular activities & involvement in professional organizations.
  • Written communications skills as demonstrated through the application.
  • Career goals.

** This applies to the most recent school curriculum completed.

Scholarship Amount

The amount can be up to $500.00, given once a year at the start of the Spring or Fall semester, and based on the availability of budgeted funds.

Administration

The Scholarship Committee shall oversee the scholarship fund.

Application Deadline

Deadlines for application are February 15 (Spring Semester) and August 15 (Fall Semester).
