Ngo Wong Loo and Kwong Man Loo Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship was established in loving memory on behalf of their children in 1994 for a graduating senior with potential for success in the academic realm. This scholarship is awarded to a first-year, full-time Honolulu Community College student and is renewable for an additional year.

Eligibility Requirements

  1. Graduating senior with a minimum high school GPA of C+.
  2. Classified at HCC and enrolled full-time.
  3. Bona fide Hawaii residents (excludes non-residents, non-resident tuition exempts, foreign).
  4. Quality of student’s written statement explaining why he/she should receive the scholarship.
  5. Potential for success in the academic realm and good moral character.
  6. Demonstrate financial need as determined by an application for financial aid.

Application Requirements

  1. Complete online scholarship application.
  2. Submit completed University of Hawaii System Application Form (Admission’s Application) to the Honolulu CC Admissions Office.
  3. Submit a copy of your most recent high school transcript showing your cumulative GPA to the Honolulu CC Financial Aid Office.
  4. Complete the 2008-2009 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Scholarship Amount

Full-time tuition cost, up to 12 credits per semester.
