About Lab 1 Astronomical Observations
This lab has several options, all of which involve making some observation of
heavenly bodies. You will need to read it carefully in order to decide which option
you will choose.
There are also instructions for making an astrolabe
which can help you to accurately measure the location of heavenly objects.
You may choose to track the sun's height at noon, observe the relationship between
the phase of the moon and its rising/setting time, chart the movement of a planet
against the celestial sphere, or visit the planeterium.
You may also choose to design your own astronomical experiment, with the consent
of the instructor.
