Basic Home Repair and Safety
Do you have those small repair jobs around your home that you‘ve
been putting off because you‘re not quite sure how to do them and
know that they are too small a job to call a professional? This course
will give you the knowledge and confidence to safely do those small
electrical repairs (i.e., changing switches and outlets), plumbing
repairs (i.e., leaky faucets, toilet float valves, or gaskets), and
refrigeration and air conditioning (i.e., maintenance and cleaning
of refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners). In addition to safety
for doing the repairs, learn about procedures for small emergencies
such as seeing sparks or smelling smoke, stopping the water from
flooding your kitchen.

to electronics, semi-conductors, and digital theory. Safety, hazards, and electrical problems will be emphasized as well as indicators
requiring the services of qualified electricians.
Recommended preparation: This is a beginning course suited
for persons who do simple electrical repairs. Good background
for other maintenance classes needing electrical basics (air
conditioning, refrigeration, major appliances).
